And, in the beginning...

We'd dreamed for years about building an energy-efficient home. We'd studied and explored various designs and systems, and finally settled on Structural Insulated Panels as a cost-effective method for constructing our dream home. Work continued on refining our design, and studying the best practices and materials to include in our home. Most importantly, our home was not only designed to withstand the severe elements that Florida can throw at us, but to use those elements to our advantage. We wanted to collect the rainwater to use in our home, and harvest the energy of the sun to power the house.
So, this is our story. And this is our home. Follow us for a trip down Construction Memory Lane, and a closer look at what it took to build our LEED home, Element House, Florida.
